New Service from FPS
FPS have recently launched FPS TradePay
FPS TradePay is for contractors working in construction and covers all types of trades and professions. On registering with FPS TradePay, the candidate becomes an employee of an umbrella company.
Once the candidate is on board with us, the agency has no further employer responsibilities. Our membership team will take care of the paperwork, and as we don't need to establish the employee's UTR there is no ongoing red tape regarding working status checks to hold up their weekly payment.
Prompt payment, correct tax deductions and exemplary customer service are the hallmarks of FPS TradePay.
FPS Tradepay has been specifically developed to take away the hassle and uncertainty for agencies and their candidates who operate in the construction industry. Not everyone can legitimately claim to be self-employed and work under deduction on a CIS contract. FPS TradePay offers a viable solution to such candidates and their agencies. Faster Payments Service from UK Banks.
Faster Payments Service is a new payment clearing service for sterling payments made by telephone or Internet banking in the UK. It has started to be phased in since 27 May. Barclays and 12 other banks are part of this, which will improve the efficiency and speed of some payments.
Non- corporate customers will be able to make one-off payments up to a maximum value of £10,000 over the telephone or via the Internet, which will leave their account and arrive at the destination account on the same day.
The industry is rolling out this new service gradually and inevitably some customers are going to be disappointed that they will have to wait for a little while before they can make use of the new system
What does this mean for you?
All our members will continue to receive their payments as normal until this facility becomes available for corporate customers. This is expected to be in 2009. We would like to remind our Members that not all banks have signed up to this service, so not all payments will be quicker from day one.
